 NABU checking validity of deal to buy Tryton armored vehicles by Border Guard Service from Poroshenko's plant

Court has allowed NABU to access and seize original documents from the State Border Guard Service on purchasing of Tryton-0103 armored vehicles from Leninska Kuznia plant.

Censor.NET reports citing the data from Unified Court Registry.

It is reported that the State Border Guard Service, while conducting enhancement works on the Ukraine-Russia border in the Donbas and Crimea, signed two contracts worth 59.5 million hryvnia ($2.3 million) with Leninska Kuznia plant in November 2015.

In December 2015 and March 2016, military unit No.1498 received four Tryton-0103 armored vehicles from the plant.

The ultimate beneficiaries of Leninska Kuznia are President Petro Poroshenko and MP Ihor Kononenko, Petro Poroshenko Bloc.

A NABU detective said the audit of state budget expenses has found that the purchase of these armored vehicles constitutes a violation of the Cabinet Decree No.345 on weapon and hardware delivery during special period and ATO (anti-terrorist operation).

NABU says the hardware purchased by the State Border Guard Service was not used as intended. They report the hardware was not suitable for guarding the state border.

The access to the documents was received on July 19 within investigation of embezzlement of state funds allocated for enhancement of Ukraine-Russia border in Donbas and Crimea, the Wall Project.
