Deputy Chief Monitor of OSCE SMM in Ukraine Alexander Hug told the briefing on Friday that the OSCE monitors came under attack in the area of the Donetsk filtration station on Aug. 3. Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.
"Just yesterday [Aug. 3 - ed.], SMM monitors and workers of a third party organization came under small arms fire at the Donetsk filtration plant located between government-controlled Avdiivka and so-called "DPR"-controlled Yasunyvata," Hug said.
"The workers of a third party organization were trying to install a surveillance cam at the roof of the filtration plant to secure us 24h monitoring in the area," Hug said.
Deputy chief monitor added that the civilians were attacked despite the fact that the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues on cease-fire and stabilization of the demarcation line helped receiving security guarantees and local cease-fire in a 15km area around the filtration plant.
