 "He was killed in Donetsk," - mother of Russian mercenary Volodin denies FSB statement of her son's death in Syria. PHOTO

Russian mercenary Andrey Volodin was not killed in Syria, as stated by FSB (Russian Security Service), but in the Donbas, his mother said.

She told Russian news outlet ProUfu.ru, Censor,NET reports.

42-year-old Volodin was allegedly killed in Syria on July 28, FSB department said on Facebook earlier.

However, Volodin's mother was surprised when journalists asked her of her son's death in Syria.

"Why Syria? He died in Donetsk," she said.

She also said no one disclosed the details of his death to her.

"No one knows anything! And we had good relations, he trusted me and told me everything..."

The mother said Andrey was not paid well for his service. "He was paid nothing. It's Donetsk. Ask the guys who are there," she said.

The journalists also reported that Volodin was not a contract soldier and fought as a mercenary. He was buried several days ago in Russia.
