Georgian-Ukrainian politician Mikheil Saakashvili made a statement on his deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship.

He posted it on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"I am a regular Ukrainian! They are trying to treat me the way prosecutors and bureaucrats treat regular Ukrainians - not giving a damn about their rights. I have lived in Ukraine for more than 13 years now, I participated in three revolutions: the granite revolution and two Maidans! My only citizenship is Ukrainian, and they will not be able to deprive me of it!" Saakashvili wrote.

He says he is being forced to apply for a refugee status.

"This is not going to happen! I am not going to stay or apply for any status! I will demand my legal right to return to Ukraine!"

"Poroshenko decided to deprive me of my citizenship covertly - while I was out of the country! As soon as they realized we've been uniting to take to the streets in fall and stop this corrupt rigged game, the fear was stronger than common sense! President Poroshenko does not give a damn about the Constitution that he is supposed to be a guarantor of.

"This is a direct and unmistakable signal to the Ukrainian society - no more democracy games," Saakashvili wrote.

He says he believes Poroshenko went to Georgia recently to agree on another scheme between two oligarchic regimes: that of his own, and the other of pro-Russian Georgian President Ivanishvili.

"I acquired Ukrainian citizenship to fight for reforms, for successful future of Ukraine, on which the future of my home country, Georgia, depends as well. Citizenship in not an empty phrase for me. Everyday while being a citizen of Ukraine, I worked for it to win and become a European super state!

"I am more Ukrainian than most of our MPs. I love Ukraine with all my heart, and I will continue fighting here, in Ukraine, despite whatever comes!" Saakashvili wrote.

On July 26, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree that deprives former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, leader of Rukh Novykh Syl party, of his Ukrainian citizenship.
