 PGO authorized by court to detain former Kyiv Mayor Chernovetskyi, - Sarhan

Investigators of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) received a permission by court to detain Leonid Chernovetskyi with a purpose of bringing him to participate in consideration of the motion for preventive measure in the form of detention.

Prosecutor General's press secretary Larysa Sarhan wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"On 7/25/2017, investigators of the PGO obtained a permission from the court to detain Leonid Chernovetskyi with a purpose of bringing him to participate in consideration of the motion for preventive measure in the form of detention," she wrote.

As reported, the Office for Investigation of crimes committed by criminal organizations is carrying out a pretrial investigation into criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal construction of an engineering and transport infrastructure facility (a helipad) on Parkova Road in Kyiv.

As part of this investigation, on July 14, 2017, the PGO served a suspicion note to former Mayor of Kyiv Leonid Chernovetskiy of abuse of power or official position.
