 Nine Ukrainian fighters killed in Donbas over 24-hour period, - Defense Ministry

Over the past 24-hour period, since midday July 19, nine Ukrainian soldiers were killed in combat in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Interfax-Ukraine, this was announced by Defense Ministry spokesperson on ATO matters Andrii Lysenko at a briefing on Thursday.

He said four military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed in Krasnohorivka shelling, Mariupol direction. Two more were wounded in the same attacks. One soldier was killed at Donetsk direction.

"This morning, at 4 a.m., Russian occupation troops opened fire from mortars, artillery, tanks, and Grad-P systems (Partizan) in Krasnohorivka area. Preliminary reports say ATO forces lost four fighters killed and two wounded. Another soldier was killed in Novhorodske shelling, Donetsk direction," Lysenko said.

He also informed the press of three Ukrainian Army soldiers killed and three wounded in a blast.

"In Novotoshkivka, a military group got into a blast that killed three fighters and wounded three more," the Defense Ministry speaker said.

Lysenko added that one more soldier was killed in Marinka shelling.

As of 11:20 a.m. July 20, 14 attacks by Russian militants have been recorded in ATO area since midnight. Eight of them were conducted with the use of heavy weapons.
