Censor.NET reports citing a message by the Luhansk civil-military administration.
The enemy opened fire towards the villages of Novozavanivka, Novooleksandrivka and Troitske of the Popasna district, using 82-mm mortars, anti-tank and automatic grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.
"Automatic grenade launchers were fired on the positions of anti-terrorist operation forces near the village of Krymske in the Novyi Aidar district. Stanytsia Luhanska came under anti-tank grenade launcher and small arms fire," the message says.
The 16 July shelling also damaged windows, walls, doors and roofs of nine residential buildings in the town of Zolote of the Popasna district.
Press officer for the National Police in the Luhansk region Tetiana Pohukai wrote later on Facebook that "LPR" militants had stepped up attacks in the Luhansk region: "Over the weekend, according to the information provided by the ATO headquarters, the police recorded 30 attacks in the territory of the Luhansk region."
"On the night of July 16, illegal armed groups shelled Zolote 4 village. The roof, windows, and doors of two houses on P. Morozov Street as well as the window and roof of a house on Proletarska Street were damaged as a result of shelling," she wrote.

Over the past day, militants committed 16 cease-fire violations in the Donbas. Ukrainian soldiers fired in response four times, one soldier got wounded.
