"We have been hacked. Two hours ago we were forced to turn off all computers; now looking forward into permission to turn them on from our security service," Kyivenerho announced.
Interfax also reported some state banks and companies have been hacked. The National Bank released a statement that the bank system has been attacked.
A source from Kyivenerho also posted the picture below showing a print screen from an office computer after rebooting (photo via TJournal).
Ukraine's Cyberpolice also confirmed the attack. Head Serhii Demediuk says Oshchadbank (a large state bank) and Ukrtelekom (a large telecommunications company) addressed his agency about the attacks today. Demediuk said cyberpolice officers have left for the scene, but if the virus is unknown, they might need to ask for international assistance in handling it.
Ukrtelekom's press office confirmed to AIN that the company had been attacked and said would provide more details later.
