 Poltorak awards 15 Ukrainian soldiers rehabilitating in Georgia: "In years, children and grandchildren will be proud of you". VIDEO+PHOTOS

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has awarded the participants of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), who undergo rehabilitation in Georgia. In particular, Poltorak awarded Volodymyr Zhemchuhov with the Glory and Honor Badge, a chief of the General Staff award.

During his official visit to Georgia, Defense Minister and General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak visited Maro Makashvili Rehabilitation Center to meet with the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who undergo psychological rehabilitation there, Censor.NET reports citing the Ministry of Defense press service.

The minister presented 15 Ukrainian soldiers with departmental and money awards.

"Thank you for your courage and patriotism! We are proud of you," said the minister. "I am sure that in years, children and grandchildren will be proud of you."

Poltorak awarded Volodymyr Zhemchuhov with the Glory and Honor Badge, a departmental award of the MoD.

"I thank you for being there, for your strength of mind and will," said the army general to the awardee. "With such heroes like you, I'm sure the victory will be ours."

Hero of Ukraine Zhemchuhov, who now lives in Georgia, often visits the rehabilitation center and communicates with the Ukrainian military, supports them in difficult times.

"Back then, I deliberately chose to fight and defend my native Ukraine. Yes, I was seriously injured, but for as long as have strength, I will continue to ideologically fight with the Russian occupation," said Zhemchuhov.

Poltorak also talked with the doctors working in the center and providing medical assistance to ATO fighters that arrive for rehabilitation in Georgia.

"I want to thank all Georgian doctors who take efforts to help our fighters," said the minister. "I am grateful to the government and the people of Georgia for supporting us from the first day of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," he stressed.
