This was announced by Defense Ministry spokesperson on ATO matters Andrii Lysenko, Censor.NET reports.
He noted the aggressor country does not abandon attempts to intimidate both Ukraine and its Western partners.
Lysenko stressed that the so-called surprise drills are performed constantly by Russia, and the transfer of troops and equipment is carried out not only in the territory of the Russian Federation but also in the territory of Belarus "allegedly as part of joint exercises."
"The reaction of the Ukrainian military department is adequate: we closely monitor the transfer of troops. We have stepped up airspace and border control and are using all possible means and methods to watch the situation and prevent any possible unexpected act of aggression against us. Therefore, all those on the front line as well as on Ukraine's state border are in the proper state of readiness," Lysenko said.
He stressed that any exercise poses a potential threat, so they are given special heed.
