 Information Policy Minister Stets resigns

On May 31, Ukraine's Minister of Information Policy Yurii Stets announced his resignation from the post due to health condition.

Censor.NET reports citing the website of the Ministry.

"The minister spoke to the leaders and members of the government and informed them of his decision. The reason behind the decision is his deteriorating health. No political or other motives," said Artem Bidenko, state secretary of the Ministry. Bidenko added Stets is on a sick leave now.

Emine Dzhaparova, first deputy minister, will act as interim minister for the time being.

As reported, Stets was appointed minister of information policy by the parliament on Dec. 2, 2014. At that time, this post had not yet been created in the Cabinet. The Ministry itself was set on Jan. 14, 2015 by a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers.
