On May 31, the voting for members of Council for public control of National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) in taking place.

Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov wrote on Facebook.

"Today NABU is the only professional state agency in Ukraine. It's an example of us being able to implement systemic structural changes. The results of NABU activities - the case against Nasirov and the case against Martynenko - show that NABU is able to objectively reveal the cases that involve top officials from acting Ukrainian government," Butusov wrote.

The journalist says that top politicians in Ukraine instead of being proud of NABU results, make efforts to discredit the reform.

"There is some huge pressure over NABU director Artem Sytnyk with the purpose of dismissing him from the post," Butusov wrote.

He stressed that the Council for public control is "very important tool for public control over NABU and at the same time the most important shield for NABU to protect itself from political invasion by those at power."

"So I ask everyone [Ukraine's citizens - ed.] to vote for candidates to the Council for public control, for those who are independent and able to both control NABU's operations and participate in public support events. The voting is taking place until 9 p.m.," Butusov wrote.
