Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov told a briefing on Thursday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
"3.7 kg of gold, 50 kg of silver, $5.5 million, 3.8 million hryvnia, and 280 thousand euros, all in cash, various jewelry - these are the results of yesterday's searches," he listed valuables confiscated from the former tax service officials.
In this regard, he called inadequate the decisions of the Pechersk district court to release some of the suspects on bails of 1 million to 15 million hryvnia.
As reported, a couple dozen former tax service officials of Yanukovych regime were apprehended on the morning of May 24. The police in conjunction with the members of the Military Prosecutor's Office conducted about 400 searches in 15 Ukrainian regions. The detainees were taken to the Kyiv International Airport by helicopters. Their criminal activities caused nearly 96 billion hryvnia damage to the state.
