Justice Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko told a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
"We are working hard on this. I do not want to disclose information in advance, because this is a process of tracing [the assets]...
"This will be, and I count on it, a positive case for implementing this decision," Petrenko dwelled on the recovery of fines and penalties in the total amount of 172 billion hryvnia (about $6.5 billion at the current exchange rate) imposed by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine on Gazprom (the Russian Federation) over abuse of dominant position in the Ukrainian natural gas transit market.
The minister stressed that these actions of the Ukrainian authorities were carried out in line with the law.
Earlier, Ukraine's State Enforcement Service initiated proceedings to recover 172 billion hryvnia in fine from Gazprom and attach its property. Even earlier, the Supreme Economic Court denied Gazprom's motion to cancel the fine imposed by the Antimonopoly Committee.
