Ukrzaliznytsia bars several Russian railroad companies from operating in Ukraine

Ukraine’s national railroad operator Ukrzaliznytsia PJSC imposed a ban on the transportation and transit of all goods and movement of empty cars owned by certain Russian companies through Ukraine.

Ukrzaliznytsia's decision of May 18, 2017 prohibits transporting goods using cars owned by Sberbank Leasing, SG-trans, NefteTransService, First Freight Company, Federal Freight Company, Promtransinvest, First Freight Company in Ukraine, Rail 1520 Service, Agrocomplex, Aston Food Ingredients, and several SG-trans subsidiaries, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

All empty cars owned by the aforementioned companies can be freely delivered to the Russian Federation.

The ban was introduced May 18 and will be effective until cancelled.

This provision was reportedly triggered by the presidential decree No. 133 of May 15, 2017 enacting the relevant decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to impose sanctions against a number of Russian companies since April 28.
