 Russian militants attacked Ukraine Army's positions 43 times yesterday, employed mortars, anti-tank missile systems, and IFVs, - ATO HQ

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in the east of Ukraine did not change much yesterday and remained tense but stable and controlled by Ukrainian military.

This was announced by the ATO HQ press center on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"Russian terrorist troops continue shelling positions of Ukraine's Army and keep using mortars of 120 mm from time to time. A total of 43 attacks upon positions of the Ukrainian defenders along the demarcation line was recorded yesterday," the report says.

The HQ said it remained hot in Prymorske direction, in the ares of Shyrokyne, Pavlopil, Hnutove. Militants fired upon ATO forces' positions there from small arms, large caliber machine guns, and grenade launchers. IFV weapon was employed in Shyrokyne and Vodiane area. In Pavlopil, the enemy resorted to 82 mm mortars. Marinka and Krasnohorivka defenders came under large caliber machine guns, 82 mm mortars, and anti-tank missile system fire.

In Donetsk direction, pro-Russian gangs were active in Avdiivka area. Its suburbs and south of the town were shelled by the militants from Minsk-banned 120 mm mortars and tank weapon. One 120 mm missile hit residential area of Avdiivka, luckily, with no casualties. In Verkhniotoretske, the enemy fired 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. In Novoluhanske, militants employed IFV weapon. 120 mm mortars fired in Maiske village area.

In Luhansk direction, 8 attacks by Russian troops were recorded yesterday. The enemy employed 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, small arms, and grenade launchers in Krymske, Triokhizbenka, and Kriakivka. A Ukrainian checkpoint in Malynove was attacked by the enemy with small arms.

As reported earlier, on May 15, Russian mercenaries attacked Ukraine's positions 37 times, employed 122 mm artillery, mortars of various calibers, grenade launchers, and IFV weapon.
