Reecent holidays in Donbas took one of heaviest tolls ever, - OSCE’s Sajdik

Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group Martin Sajdik called unacceptable the violations of the cease-fire in the Donbas.

Ambassador told journalists after the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group to resolve the conflict in the Donbas, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine TV channel.

According to him, the most recent holidays became one of the most deadly in a very long time, which is absolutely unacceptable. Sajdik recalled that shelling with the heavy artillery that had to be withdrawn long ago caused civilian casualties.

He also said that the subgroup on security of the Trilateral Contact Group heard a report on the internal investigation into explosion of the OSCE SMM car that tripped a mine in the Luhansk region controlled by separatists on April 23.

The ambassador believes that this egregious incident along with a number of others underscores the need for all parties to respect the mandate of the mission and ensure the safety of its personnel.
