As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO headquarter's press center on Facebook.
"Over the past 24-hour period the enemy opened fire upon Ukrainian defenses 70 times," the report says.
In Donetsk direction, Russian forces employed 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, IFV weapon, grenade launchers of various systems, large caliber machine guns, anti-tank grenade launchers and small arms to attack defenses in such areas as Verkhniotoretske, Avdiivka, Troitske, Novhorodske, Kamianka, Zaitseve, Myronivske and Luhanske.
In Prymorske direction, Ukrainian marine infantrymen stationed at Pavlopil and Shyrokyne came under 120 mm mortar and anti-tank grenade launcher fire, at Vodiane - under tank, 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers, large caliber machine gun, and small arms fire. Lebedynske, Novotroitske, Marinka, Chermalyk, Hnutove, Starohnativka, Hranitne, and Bohdanivka were attacked from various weapons, including 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, IFV weapon, anti-tank grenade launchers, large caliber machine guns, automated grenade launchers, and small arms. In Pavlopil area, enemy snipers were operating.
In Luhansk direction, Russian occupation troops were employing 82 mm mortars, large caliber machine guns, anti-tank missile systems, grenade launchers of various systems, anti-aircraft missile system ZU-23-2, and small arms in the areas of the following villages and towns: Novotoshkivka, Krymske, Novooleksandrivka, Novozvanivka, Valuiske, and Stanytsia Luhanska.
"In some cases, when direct threat to life and health of the military persisted, the commanders made decisions to open adequate retalition fire," ATO press center said.
As previously reported, on May 8, Russian-terrorist forces committed 50 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the ATO area. One serviceman was killed, nine were wounded.
