 Ukrainian troops deployed near Avdiivka came under heavy mortar shelling today, - ATO HQ

The Russian invaders continue committing attacks on the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces despite cease-fire deal. The most intense hostilities were recorded in the vicinity of Avdiivka today, May 3.

As reported by Censor.NET, speaker for the ATO headquarters press center Yaroslav Chepurnyi said on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"The enemy started firing at the positions of Ukrainian troops in the ATO zone after midnight. The strong points near Vodiane, Pavlopil, and Shyrokyne in Prymorske direction came under three attacks. The enemy employed grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms against positions near these villages. An enemy sniper attacked marines in Pavlopil.

"The adversary fired upon our positions in the Donetsk region twice: positions on the outskirts of Troitske were shelled with grenade launchers. Avdiivka came under fiercest attacks today as the militants employed 82 mm mortars against this town besides large-caliber machine guns and small arms," he said.

"In the Luhansk region, the enemy shelled defenders of Novooleksandrivka with anti-tank grenade launchers tonight. Fortunately, no our defender was hurt in this attack. No losses among our fighters have been reported so far," the press officer added.
