The lawyer told Censor.NET that the information about the alleged confiscation of $1.5 billion owned by Viktor Yanukovych is untrue.
"Viktor Yanukovych keeps about 28.78 million hryvnia on his account in Oschadbank and some 2.26 million hryvnia more on another one. These are personal funds that are not subject to confiscation," Serdiuk said.
To prove it, he demonstrated Yanukovych bank account statements.
The attorney explained that the ex-president filed a defamation suit against Oschadbank head two months ago.
"We filed a lawsuit against Oshchadbank's board chairman Andrii Pyshnyi on Feb. 27, 2017 regarding the spread of untrue information about more than $1.5 billion allegedly kept on accounts of Viktor Yanukovych in Oschadbank. On April 10, the Pechersk court initiated proceedings under this suit," Serdiuk said.
