"Over the past 24-hour period, Russian occupation troops committed 52 attacks on Ukrainian positions," the message says.
In the coastal area, militants employed 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, IFVs and grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms against Ukrainian marines in the vicinity of Vodiane. 82 mm mortars, IFVs and various types of grenade launchers hit strong points near Marinka. Attacks on positions near Hnutove involved 120 mm mortars, IFVs, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. Defenders of Shyrokyne came under APC, heavy machine gun and small arms fire, defenders of Novotroitske were hit by various types of grenade launchers and small arms. Strong points around Pavlopil and Krasnohorivka were pounded by grenade launchers and heavy machine guns, while small arms were used against positions outside Novoselivka Druha. Enemy snipers operated in the vicinity of Pavlopil and Marinka.
In the Donetsk sector, terrorists fired upon Avdiivka with 122 mm artillery, 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, various types of grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. Strong points near Myronivske were attacked by 82 mm mortars, IFVs, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. Ukrainian servicemen outside Zaitseve and Kamianka came under 82 mm mortar, heavy machine gun and small arms fire. Defenders of Verkhniotoretske sustained an IFV and heavy machine gun attack. Positions outside Pisky came under anti-tank grenade launcher fire.
In the Luhansk sector, Russian-backed militants used 120 mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms in attacks on ATO troops near Krymske. Ukrainian strongholds outside Katerynivka came under 82 mm mortar and grenade launcher fire. Defenders of Stanytsia Luhanska and Syze were pounded with various types of grenade launchers; positions around Valuiske came under small arms fire
"In some cases, in the face of an immediate threat to the life of servicemen, commanders sanctioned an adequate retaliation," the ATO press center added.
As reported earlier, militants committed 47 attacks on Ukrainian positions on April 26.
