National Legal Center (NCP), which initiated the investigation, told Istorychna Pravda, Censor.NET reports.
"This case is unique and has no analogues in Ukraine. The deed of Stekliar, the KGB officer, has no time limitation. A crime remains a crime after decades. The murder of Chasewicz, the fighter for freedom, must be investigated, and everyone who was involved must be sentenced," NCP representative Denys Polishchuk says.
Then captain (now - retired colonel) Borys Stekliar was commanding an MGB operation on searching and elimination of undercover painter, member of propaganda unit of Volyn detachment of OUN Nil Chasewicz in 1952. Stekliar was the one who threw a grenade inside an entrenchment where Chasewicz and other OUN member were hiding. In 2016 Colonel Stekliar asked the court to exclude his personal file No.2095 from public access, in violation of the law that allowed opening all KGB archives to the public.
