 Pope wished Ukraine, ''beset by conflict and bloodshed, to regain social harmony''

Pope Francis celebrated Mass on the steps leading to St. Peter's Basilica in front of thousands of faithful.

Pope Francis on Easter Sunday gave his traditional Urbi et Orbi (''To the City and the World'') message from the central loggia of St Peter's Basilica. He mentioned Ukraine in his Easter message, Censor.NET reports citing Vatican Radio.

''May the Good Shepherd come to the aid of Ukraine, still beset by conflict and bloodshed, to regain social harmony. May he accompany every effort to alleviate the tragic sufferings of those affected by the conflict,'' the Pope said.
