As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Defense Ministry spokesperson on ATO matters Colonel Andrii Lysenko at a briefing.
"Over the three years of fighting for freedom, independent, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, 2,652 military, servicemen of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the SBU, the Interior Ministry, the State Border Service, and other military agencies. 9,578 received battle wounds," he said.
Lysenko reminded that April 14 is the third anniversary of the beginning of the ATO in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The relevant decree was signed three years ago by then acting president of Ukraine.
"It was a justified reaction to the separatist rebellion, inspired, organized, armed and commanded by Russia. Thousands of Ukrainian patriots left for the eastern front to repulse the enemy aggression. Ukrainian volunteers and millions of patriots made their input in defense of the homeland. Ukraine received military aid and diplomatic support from the entire world in its fight with the Russian occupants," he said.
