 UNICEF confirms death of 27 children in Syria gas attack

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) says at least 27 children were killed as a result of a chemical attack on the city of Khan-Sheikhoun in the Syrian province of Idlib.

At least 27 children were confirmed killed in the attack in Idlib, northwest of Syria, UNICEF said today.

According to the fund, a further 546 people, among them many children, have been injured.

Casualty figures are expected to rise, UNICEF added.

As reported, 100 people died and 300 were injured in a chemical attack in the Syrian northwestern province of Idlib.
