Ukraine's Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko said at a meeting with students of Taras Shevchenko National University, Censor.NET reports referring to LIGA.net.
"For Russian propaganda, for Putin personally this is a reputational defeat because Ukraine is part of a civilized world that can travel to the European Union and other countries. This is the failure of Russia and its propaganda that forces society into thinking they are "the best and the strongest." This day is a landmark and historic day, which is one of the tools to crush Russia's propaganda," he said.
Petrenko added that Ukrainian citizens are not potential migrants and refugees, notwithstanding Russia's myth about a possible mass migration to EU countries after the introduction of visa-free travel.
"From the standpoint of migration legislation [of EU - ed.], Ukraine has minimum percentage of such violations in the past five years," the minister said.
On April 6, the European Parliament approved granting Ukrainians the right to travel to the countries of the European Union without visas. 521 MEPs supported the decision, 75 were against, 36 abstained.
