As reported by Censor.NET citing 112 Ukraine, this was announced by President Petro Poroshenko during Kyiv Security Forum.
"Russia is searching for future in its imperialistic past. In the past that saw no freedom, no human dignity, no rule of law. In the past where people were suppressed, where expansion thrived. They practiced it in the past, they practice it now. Both the illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula and the aggression in the Donbas are signs of Russian provincialism, targeting the key principles of order, stability, and prosperity. Modern Ukraine is based on its strong civil society, while Russia is oppressing its civil society," Poroshenko said.
"Ukraine has taken the democracy path, and it has become a threat for Moscow, but young people took to streets there as human spirit cannot be oppressed... Russia wants to put us inside this world as described by Strugatsky brothers in their well-known novel. This world is ruled by oligarchs who are interested only in power and satisfaction from this power. Their authority is based on repressions," the head of state said.
Poroshenko believes the key task of Russia is to destabilize Ukraine.
