 Poroshenko appoints Maria Gaidar as his freelance adviser

Member of the Odesa Regional Council (Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction), a former Russian opposition figure Maria Gaidar was appointed freelance adviser to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on March 28.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the president's press office.

Gaidar was appointed by the decree No. 83/2017.

Maria Gaidar is great-granddaughter of outstanding Russian writer Arkady Gaidar and daughter of famous Russian politician Yegor Gaidar, who developed and implemented economic reforms in Russia in early 1990s.

Mikheil Saakashvili proposed her a post of his deputy in July 2015. Poroshenko granted her Ukrainian citizenship and personally handed a Ukrainian passport in August 2015.
