 Militants shelled Ukrainian soldiers 37 times on first cease-fire day, - ATO Staff

Despite the fact that the Trilateral Contact Group agreed to introduce the cease-fire in the Donbas at 12 a.m. on April 1, the pro-Russian militants violated the truce for about 37 times on April 1.

The greatest number of the militants' attacks was recorded in the Mariupol sector. Berezove was shelled with 82 mm mortars. Ukrainian marines' positions at Shyrokyne were fired from IFV weapons. The militants fired at Vodiane from anti-tank missile system, grenade launchers of various caliber, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms. At the same time, Berezove, Hnutove, and Pavlopil were fired from heavy machine guns.

In the Donetsk sector, Luhanske strongholds were fired from 120 and 82 mm mortars, IFV weapons and small arms. The militants mortared Avdiivka with 82 mm shells. Verkhniotoretske strongholds were shelled with grenade launchers, while Kamianka was fired from large-caliber machine guns. The militants' snipers were spotted near Avdiivka, Verkhniotoretske and Maiorske.
