As reported by Censor.NET citing 112 Ukraine, Poroshenko said at the graduation ceremony in Cherniakhovskyi National Defense University of Ukraine.
"I have consulted the defense minister, the chief of staff, and decided to increase extra compensation payments for conducting combat tasks in the ATO area effective April 1," Poroshenko said.
Ukrainian soldiers fighting at the Donbas frontline after April 1 will receive additionally by 1,500 hryvnia more, a total of 7,500 hryvnia ($278 monthly), he said.
Soldiers at the second line will receive additionally 3,500 hryvnia (by 1,100 hryvnia more).
Earlier, President Petro Poroshenko instructed the Armed Forces General Staff and the Defense Ministry to cease fire in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in the Donbas starting from April 1.
