 "DPR" militant detained trying to get to Ukraine from Russia

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a militant of the terrorist organization "Donetsk People's Republic" as he was crossing the state border with the Russian Federation.

Censor.NET reports citing the SBU press service.

According to the police, a resident of the Zolotonosha district of the Cherkasy region joined a paramilitary group in March 2016.

He was an IFV gunner-operator and took an active part in combat clashes with anti-terrorist operation forces.

The detainee was also gathering information about the composition, arming and positions of Ukrainian troops.

In February 2017, the terrorist was indicted in absentia under part 1, article 258-3 (establishment of a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and declared wanted by the Security Service Department in the Cherkasy region.

The suspect has been sent to a pre-trial facility.
