Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, 25 authorized searches were conducted in the Lviv and Zakarpattia regions over the past 24 hours.
The turnover of large-scale vodka production approached half a million hryvnia a day.
"Five residents of the two regions organized a workshop in the Lviv region, and delivered the alcohol to neighboring regions. Daily production reached up to 2,000 boxes (!) of this alcoholic potion. Earnings ran only to the pockets of the violators. It counted from 100,000 to half a million hryvnia a day, without paying any taxes. The dealers did not think about the risks to human health," Avakov wrote.
"The officers seized 2,000 boxes of counterfeit alcohol (40,000 bottles), US $120,00, 117,000 euros, UAH 600,000, five tons of spirits, uncountable number of counterfeit duty stamps of Ukraine and equipment for the production of alcohol," the minister reported.
