This was announced by Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov on his Facebook page.
"A sabotage group of the enemy has committed an attack in Kyiv downtown against wanted in Russia former State Duma deputy Denys Voronenkov, who had assumed Ukraine citizenship. This occurred at the Premier Palace hotel on Shevchenka Boulevard.
"Voronenkov died on the scene. An SBU officer from his security guards was also injured, but managed to open fire and wound the killer.
"Voronenkov was trying to travel covertly, without speaking on the phone. As a former secret services member, he realized the threats and was taking security measures.
"It is obvious that the attempt and a daring attack could have only been organized by Russian secret services," Butusov wrote.
FORMER RUSSIAN STATE DUMA MEMBER DENYS VORONENKOV: "SITUATION IN RUSSIA IS LIKE IN NAZI GERMANY. I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN LIES AND HYPOCRISY. I BECAME CITIZEN OF UKRAINE AND AM PROUD OF IT"Voronenkov was a witness in the treason case against fugitive Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych. In his recent interview with Censor.NET Voronenkov said that Yanukovych was a traitor " who was involved in mass slaughter, who had fled to the foreign country and urged foreign troops to slay his people. I believe this person should have received not asylum but a fair trial in Russia."
