Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff press center.
"The enemy committed the fiercest attacks on the outskirts of Avdiivka, Luhanske, Zaitseve, and Butivka mine in Donetsk direction. The invaders fired upon these towns and villages with 120 and 82 mm mortars, large-caliber machine guns, and grenade launchers virtually all day long.
"The adversary also shelled defenders of Avdiivka and Butivka mine with tanks. Positions near Zaitseve village came under heavy strike with 152 mm artillery in the evening.
"In Luhansk direction, the enemy fired upon the Ukrainian soldiers deployed in the vicinity of Zolote, Novozvanivka, and Krymske with grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and 120 mm mortars," the situation report reads.
Russian invaders also actively used weapons banned by the Minsk agreements in Mariupol direction: "The enemy employed 120 mm mortars, machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems against positions in Shyrokyne, Lebedynske, and Krasnohorivka. The Russian-terrorist units shelled defenders of Novotroitske with heavy artillery of 122 mm caliber while the defenders of Marinka were shelled with a tank.
"Ukrainian servicemen opened fire in several cases to suppress the enemy attacks. One Ukrainian defender was wounded in action," the press center said.
As reported, the Russian proxies attacked Ukrainian troops' positions 60 times on March 20.
