Censor.NET reports citing the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff press center.
"At 9:30 a.m., in the vicinity of Vodiane village, two enemy groups some 40 men strong came close to our positions. After receiving a fitting rebuff, the sabotage and reconnaissance groups retreated, while the Ukrainian military started to chase the enemy," the report says.
After militants used heavy weapons - Grad systems, 152 mm and 122 mm guns - the Ukrainian soldiers withdrew to their positions.
As previously reported, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and seven wounded in the Mariupol sector on March 20.
