"When people in the Ukrainian police uniform show the whole country an example of violation of the law in the main center of representative democracy, it's a blow to the rights and freedoms of all," Soboliev said.
"We urgently need a national roundtable meeting with the participation of the president, leaders of political forces and NGOs to find civilized ways out of the situation. Church leaders could moderate the discussion.
"We shouldn't forget that Russia attacks us both from the outside and from within. After the Euromaidan and the annexation of Crimea, we learned that some of the Russian agents wore the uniform of Berkut [Ukraine's disbanded riot police unit - ed.]. We now see them similarly disguised as the new Ukrainian police and the National Guard. I completely agree that every Ukrainian parliamentarian must act in the interests of people in compliance with the standards of ethics and democracy," the lawmaker stressed.
