 Kyiv police chief says professional activities are major version of businessman murder

Police investigators believe that the businessman who was shot dead in his car in downtown Kyiv on March 8 could have been hit over his professional activities.

As reported by Censor.NET, Kyiv police Chief Andrii Kryshchenko said on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"The preliminary version is his professional activities. We shall pursue other leads based on the collected evidence," Kryshchenko said.

According to the law enforcer, primary measures of investigation are underway.

"Primary investigatory actions are underway. We have several witnesses and surveillance video which is being scrutinized," Kryshchenko said.

Up to 10 shots were fired. According to him, the murdered businessman was a resident of Kyiv. Kryshchenko disclosed no more details.

As for the children wounded in the attack, the senior police official said they had received medical assistance: "The girl is already home, while the boy is still in a healthcare facility after surgery."

Earlier, an armed person opened fire at a driver of a Mercedes-Benz CLS at Antonovycha Street in Kyiv. The driver died on the spot, and his two children were wounded. They were taken to a hospital. The attacker presumably made six shots with a Makarov handgun.
