Head of the Donetsk civil and military administration Pavlo Zhebrivskyi wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"Last night, the Ruscists (an acronym for Russian fascists - Ed.) committed a well-aimed strike on the Donetsk filtering station which supplies water to Avdiivka and nearby towns and cities, including Donetsk and Yasynuvata. Eight shells landed on the territory of the utility company. Chlorine warehouse, pipeline, tanks with purified water, and filters were damaged. Process buildings also suffered significant damage.
"Fortunately, the staff incurred no losses. Well-aimed strikes have been committed for several days. The Ruscists have obviously realized that Avdiivka is more than a match for them and decided to cut off water supply in the town. The station has ceased operation while the management considers staff evacuation. We no longer cherish illusion: the Muscovites equally hate our people on both sides of the demarcation line. They care little about the fact that the residents of Donetsk have also been left without potable water.
"This pathetic excuse for Hitler, Putin seeks to create as much mayhem in Avdiivka as possible, like in Aleppo. This is actually his ultimate goal. It is necessary to urgently make a decision on the demilitarization of the area adjacent to the Donetsk filtering station. We repeatedly discussed this issue with the OSCE, and JCCC (Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the cease-fire in the Donbas - Ed.), and the U.N. mission. But it is high time to take resolute action now," Zhebrivskyi wrote.
