 Treason indictment against Yanukovych to be referred to court on March 14, - Matios

Ukraine's Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios says an indictment for treason against ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych will be referred to court on March 14.

Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

"On March 14, an indictment for treason against Yanukovych will be referred to court for consideration on the merits," Matios said.

Viktor Yanukovych is charged with high treason, assistance to the Russian authorities in deliberate acts intended to change the borders and the territory of Ukraine in violation of the procedure stipulated by the Constitution of Ukraine, and the conduct of a war of aggression.

On Jan. 30, the Prosecutor General's Office planned to complete a special pre-trial investigation and provide the materials to the defense. Prosecutor Kravchenko said the investigation had received a lot of evidence, in particular from two former deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
