 Russia plots acts of violence during Maidan anniversary events in Kyiv on Feb. 18-22, - SBU

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) admits eight out of 17 events scheduled for the anniversary of Maidan may involve acts of violenсe.

SBU Chief of Staff Oleksandr Tkachuk said at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

"In the near future, our colleagues will take part in commemorative events devoted to the anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity and the memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes. However, we see that Russia is trying to use this opportunity to incite clashes and riots.

"According to our data, 17 different events are scheduled for Feb. 18-22 in Kyiv alone. The preparation of eight of them indicates possible use of violence. Moreover, of these eight events, three are organized from the territory of the Russian Federation," Tkachuk said.
