 Lutsenko to ask Rada to hold MPs Shufrych, Suprunenko and Konstantinovskyi liable for tax evasion

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko has named Ukrainian MPs suspected of tax evasion.

He announced it at a press conference, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

"Each of the three deputies, namely Suprunenko (indipendent), Konstantynovskyi (independent) and Shufrych (the Opposition Bloc) has failed to pay taxes in the amount of 60, 50 and 40 million hryvnia ($2.189, $1.824, $1.459 million) respectively," Lutsenko said.

He said he would ask the Verkhovna Rada to allow bringing the MPs to responsibility. According to him, there are two options - either the parliament sanctions criminal prosecution and the lawmakers face up to 3 years in prison or they pay their respective taxes and the case will be closed.

Earlier, Lutsenko said three MPs had been exposed after they failed to pay 150 million hryvnia in taxes: "I am going to file a motion in the parliament in the short term."
