Sanctions against Russia must stay in place until full Minsk implementation, - Norway

Norway emphasized the importance to maintain sanctions against Russia up to the full implementation of its commitments under the Minsk agreements.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Ukraine's Foreign Ministry press service, this was said by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway Marit Berger Røsland at the Ukrainian-Norwegian consultations held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations on Feb.13.

"Norway's position of support to Ukraine in the preservation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity remains unchanged,"Røsland said.

Special attention was paid to implementation of the Minsk agreements. The Ukrainian side reported on the aftermath of the latest escalation of Russian aggression in the Donbas. The Norwegian side stressed the official Oslo's principled stance to condemn any violation of international law and emphasized the importance to keep sanctions against Russia up to the full implementation of its commitments under the Minsk agreements.

In addition, Norway pledged to continue supporting projects of humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians who suffered from the Russian aggression.
