No retirement age increase expected in Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister Rozenko says

The pension reform the government scheduled to implement this year does not stipulate for raising the retirement age, while the IMF does not insist on it either.

As reported by Censor.NET, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko said on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"We should have listened to the IMF representative more carefully... The IMF member was very clear about Ukraine's consent to carry out pension reform. We know that, we understand that, and we agree that the pension reform should be carried out. No one denies this.

"The second thing voiced by the IMF representative is that the IMF considers raising the retirement age to be just one of the options. I want to disprove all claims, headlines, and hints that the Ukrainian government has allegedly agreed to raise the retirement age. The pension reform should be definitely implemented. I hope the pension reform will be discussed and adopted this year due to joint efforts of the community, of the Verkhovna Rada. But no one is going to raise the retirement age in Ukraine," he stressed.
