Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine quoting the Foreign Ministry press service.
"We are working with our German and French partners to make this meeting effective and force Russia to finally start fulfilling the Minsk agreements," the press service told the news agency on Wednesday.
Earlier the same day, Secretary of State, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said the organization of the next week Normandy format meeting of foreign ministers in Bonn is under consideration.
"The possibility of holding such a meeting in this format is being studied," Karasin said when asked about the plans to hold a Normandy format meeting at the ministerial level on the sidelines of a G20 summit in Bonn on Feb. 16-17.
The Normandy contact group, also known as the Normandy Four, is composed of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine. It seeks to resolve the situation in the Donbas.
Earlier, German Ambassador Reichel said in an interview it was not necessarily that elections in the Donbas take place only when there are no Russian troops or Ukrainian flag is posted on each city administration.
As an example, the ambassador cited the last 1990 parliamentary elections in the German Democratic Republic, which took place in the presence of Soviet troops.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has summoned Reichel in connection with the incident.
