The issue of Avdiivka's damaged infrastructure recovery, resumption of heat and power deliveries, repairs and victim assistance were discussed at the meeting with the leaders of the Donetsk civil and military administration and State Emergency Service, Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
According to the crisis management staff, no one has frozen to death in Avdiivka through coordinated and resolute actions of all involved services. Life in the city goes back to normal making the evacuation of the residents unnecessary so far.
"Our positions continue coming under heavy shelling along with repeated attempts to storm our defenses. Besides heavy artillery and mortars banned by the Minsk agreements, the enemy started actively using tank detachments and multiple launch rocket systems," Oleksandr Turchynov said, adding that in most cases the strikes were cowardly committed from the residential neighborhoods of the occupied cities.
"All the militants' attempts to carry out offensive operations were thwarted by the skilled actions of our military," he said. According to the NSDC secretary, the enemy suffered heavy losses and was forced to retreat over and over again.
"Taking into account aggressive actions of the Russian hybrid troops deliberately trying to escalate the situation, we must be prepared to repel any attack along the contact line," the official summed up.
