As reported by Censor.NET citing 112 Ukraine TV channel, this was said by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a briefing in Berlin.
"I want to inform you that five Ukrainian military were killed, 12 were wounded yesterday. Two more soldiers gave their lives defending territorial integrity of our country this morning, another five were wounded. They were wounded and killed by strikes with artillery systems deployed by the Russian militants in the residential neighborhoods of Donetsk and Yasynuvata to make it impossible for the Ukrainian military to open fire [in response]. This is a barbarous warfare," Poroshenko said.
According to him, Ukraine immediately informed the OSCE on the developments while the Russian side was reluctant to respond to the requests.
"We believe that united and decisive action is needed today to motivate the Russian side to be at the negotiating table to implement the Minsk agreements in full, first of all, their security component to stop the killing, including civilians in the Donbas," Poroshenko said.
As reported, five Ukrainian servicemen were killed, 14 were wounded in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area over the past 24-hour period. Most of the losses incurred in Avdiivka's industrial zone. A total of 35 enemy attacks, including eight strikes with heavy weapons were recorded in the Mariupol direction yesterday.
It was also reported that two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and five were wounded on the morning of Jan. 30.
