As reported by Censor.NET citing the statement by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Zalishchuk asked the British PM to become advocate of the European security and peace in Ukraine to the United States.
"During the meeting, the prime minister promised to continue providing support for Ukraine in the future" the statement reads.
"Svitlana Zalishchuk also drew the prime minister's attention to the importance of establishing the highest level bilateral relations between the countries. Following Brexit and the leadership change in the U.K. in July 2016, British Prime Minister Theresa May has not yet held formal meetings with the representatives of the Ukrainian authorities. This particular meeting was held with the participation and under the auspices of Chairman of Friends of Ukraine group in the British parliament Sir Gerald Howarth and Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD)."
