Poroshenko urged the European Parliament to back the proposal of the European Commission to grant Ukraine with autonomous trade preferences to promote further diversification of Ukrainian exports in the face of economic pressure by the Russian Federation.
The president thanked the European Parliament for not recognizing the annexation of Crimea by Russia and called for its active opposing of Russia's repression and human rights violations against the Ukrainians, including the Crimean Tatars, and furthering the release of all hostages illegally detained in the territory of the Russian Federation.
