"If we don’t keep those sanctions on and even increase them, it will encourage Vladimir Putin, who is a war criminal," - US Senator McCain

A bipartisan group of American senators is intent on preventing President Donald Trump from lifting sanctions on Russia without approval from the Congress.

Republican Senator John McCain said, Censor.NET reports citing Politico.

According to him, more sanctions against Russia should be introduced.

"We should not relax them," he said.

"If we don't keep those sanctions on and even increase them, it will encourage Vladimir Putin, who is a war criminal," the senator added.
