Minister of Occupied Territories and IDP's Vadym Chernysh told reporters about how many cargos leave the Donbas daily by rail, Censor.NET reports citing Gazeta.ru.
"The numbers change every day, it all depends on the hauls. Overall, we have five rail hauls and every day I get information about their work. For example, at the moment, the Stakhanov-Popasna haul is not operating after a bomb attack. As for other lines, no cargo went through Yasynuvata. The Sentianivka-Shypylove, the Mykytivka-Maiorsk, the Luhansk Pivdennyi-Kondrashevska Nova hauls operated. Over the day, 364 freight cars entered the government controlled territory, carrying 24,700 tons of steam coal. It happens every day," the minister noted.
He also explained how much energy coal Ukraine needs.
"We see what is happening. In total, 9.2 million of anthracite is needed for Ukraine's energy sector, and all this coal is in the uncontrolled territory. A significant part of coal deliveries has to do with Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK companies and other businessmen who own mines and at the same time are the beneficiaries of power generating companies, where the coal is supplied. They move coal across the contact line, but all the payments in these schemes are made in the Ukrainian territory and, accordingly, do not corrupt checkpoints and the military," Chernysh said.
